The Marina Manager role requires varied but equally important skills.
An outgoing, professional, and accommodating personality combined with basic boating familiarity and mechanical curiosity are key traits that will contribute to a successful and enriching experience.
DOTCE is a full-service marina providing 70 wet slips, winter storage, a year-round service department and yacht sales.
Amenities include a swimming pool, bath houses, laundry room and protected slips on Town Creek.
In collaboration with the service and office manager, the marina manager role is vital to the overall facility success by providing an exceptional experience for our clients while understanding the value of team cohesion.

Responsibilities Facility management - DOTCE has many older buildings, docks and common areas that require considerable attention.
Facilities include:
Swimming pool maintenance, office building maintenance, service buildings, docks/piers, parking areas, apartment, bathrooms/showers, etc.
Slip sales and occupancy coordination - Collaborate with the office manager on slip vacancies.
Provide detailed information on amenities, available slips and being creative in filling every slip Oversee contracts for seasonal slip holders, assigning and managing slips for guests Oversee transient slip rentals, maximizing our occupancy throughout the season (web-based reservation system) Perform dock checks daily; monitor infrastructure, mechanicals, vessels, and guest experience Hire and manage, as needed, dock hand for the season.
Ensure that staff are equipped and fully trained to deliver a high level of customer service.
Work with subcontractors on routine maintenance as well as capital improvements.
Work with the town, county, and state as required for facility changes, improvements, and required regulations/permitting Desirable skill sets and abilities Welcoming and accommodating personality Willingness and desire to collaborate with team members to accomplish challenging tasks Project management - ability to schedule, coordinate and have a 'hands-on' attitude.
Effectively communicate project updates with all stake holders.
Comfortable in a marina environment - in all kinds of weather.
Able to assist slip holders and guests with all their boating needs:
from docking assistance to calling a cab, to introducing a client to our service manager; our clients deserve our attention, focus and trust.
Familiarity with Maryland DNR, MD Clean Marina Initiatives, and general state regulations related to waterfront facilities The marina manager role requires someone who is handy, mechanically curious and a good trouble shooter.
If we cannot fix it, who can? Create and maintain working relationships with subcontractors.
Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Outlook, inter-office communication, excel spreadsheets, Dropbox, marina management software.
Business acumen - Awareness and ability to convey/control operating costs for the facility.
Maintain Dropbox file that includes ongoing maintenance and capital improvement projects.
