Vehicle Description 1955 MG TF 1500 For Sale By Owner - The last and most beautiful of the immortal T Series MG roadster cars.
I won't bore you with the history of these cars and the rarity of the TF1500, nor the factory specs, since that info is readily available.
I'll limit my description to MY car only.
This Red and Tan example remains in highly original and beautiful condition.
With approximately 86,270 original miles, it looks great and runs great.
I drive it weekly around our small town.
No major repairs or restorations are known, just normal wear and tear parts.
Front brake cylinders have been restored to new and engine hoses and clamps replaced with correct originals.
Original red paint believed to have been partially restored in 1980s, bonnet panels repainted in 2006.
Some scattered cracks are evident close up, but paint still looks great as is.
All five tires look about new.
Interior and upholstery all believed to be original and in great shape.
Gauges all work properly but a couple panel indicator lights and clock not currently working.
Canvas hood (top), tonneau cover, side curtains are in great shape and original.
One small oil stain on hood.
Original steering wheel has had a tasteful leather cover for decades and still looks great.
Engine and body numbers are matching of course.
Still has its original cast iron paper oil filter cover, valve cover, etc.
All wood is solid and believed original.
Looks like it was never stored outside.
It had a radio at one time but it is gone while the antenna remains.
Wire wheels, luggage rack, badge bar, fog lights, wing mirrors.
I will include a nice canvas garage dust cover, original crank handle, a set of correct spanner tools, and an assortment of spare parts like spark plugs, an OEM speedometer cable, etc.
I will also include several vintage/original owner and shop manuals as pictured.
Also included is a custom made pair of lockable glove box covers that are attractive when installed (see pics) and not detectable when removed with no modifications to original structure.
I have added clamp on sun visors and side wind screens that are easily removed if not wanted.
I find them very useful.
This classic MG TF 1500 is very drivable as is and will show well at events and on the road.
Or it would be an easy one to take all the way to a concourse restoration level.
Asking price including everything pictured or mentioned is $39,500.
Questions welcome.
My cell phone is 410-924-8484.
Car can be seen or driven by appointment only at my home in Maryland.
I have owned and enjoyed her since 2006 but time moves on.
